Full route of pleasing surprises, first when arriving at the highest point one hour after we started the long walk to give a precious view of the complete valley and surrounding mountains; located to the distant spot we see for the last time the starting point. 5 rappels on water falls, and increasing high up to 40 meters, makes this canyon very interesting. The first descent was done by us the 4th of September 2005. This is a canyoning adventure far from civilization.

Season
All year, beeing carefull on flash floods in the months of August and September. It can be suspended any momento if the river level represent a risk for the visitor. The river level will be monitored the same day of the trip. |
Meeting Point
| The departure and return point is Hotel Cola de Caballo in Santiago, Nuevo Leon. In order to arrive to this point you will have to take the state highway 40 to El Cercado (Santiago NL), follow the Victoria signs, exit the highway and take the road to Cola de Caballo, which this indicated very well by diverse announcements. There you will find parking. |
Difficulty
| Beginners: this trip is for personas without any experience in outdoor activities. The route involves walking in paths, between stones and can have downclimbing. All our routes include sa rappel course. Low phisical condition is required and is a requirement not to have overweight. |
Gear provided by MatacanesŪ
Each participant will be responsible of the gear provided, and will have to be carried in your own backpack when it is not in use. Lost gear should be payed as new. |

Groups
| Groups can be made of 5 people minimum. In case of not being able to form a group, you'll have to make reservations with a full payment of the tour and wait to be assigned to one of the groups formed by other people. If you can't be assigned, you'll be refunded. You may ask for VIP groups with no minimum persons and guides will be assigned exclusively for you including all meals, transportation from airport , cabins and hotel nights. |
Food / Meals
Breakfast and lunch snack is incluided and will be provided at the beginning of the excursion, in addition is recommended to take to extra food as energy bars (or chocolates). |
